The beach of Novigrad´s sea hosted the second last Croatian event of City Games before the
national final. The organizers were Općina Posedarje and agency Adria Events and teams
from Šibenik, Cesarica, Mali Lošinj, Posedarje and Zagreb were competing on the event. The
gold medal was won by team Cesarica which is near Karlobag. They had the most points on
their account after three sea and three land games.

The competition started with sea games – flying water polo, tourist rescuing and sea basket. In
2 minutes and a half, which is the expiring time in flying water polo, Cesarica won 130
points, creating the best result in this game and got first 8 points. Also tourist rescuing was
very good played by Cesarica, rescuing their ladies from the island in only 1:39 and got
another 8 points. Tight behind was home team which happened to win in sea basket and even
improved great atmosphere on the tribunes.

In land games team Jazavci from Mali Lošinj which came to the games by seaway finally
woke up. With two best results in alka and donkey race they totally mixed the positions in
standing and just before the last game four teams could still won the gold. We found out the
result after finishing tug of war where Šibenik took all 12 points which helped them to won
third place in total and took bronze medal. Even though Cesarica lost the final in tug of war, it
was still enough to win the competition and very well deserved put gold medal around the
neck.

Stjepan Lisac, the member of the winning team from Cesarica, got to say only words of
approval for the hosters and organizers: “We would like to thank to Općina Posedarje for
inviting us and for creating such a beautiful event. The whole team enjoyed in competition
and we were also lucky enough to take home the gold medal.”

City Games will continue their way in Croatia in Duga Resa on 19. August which will be
followed by national final in Vir on 26. August. The last competitions will even present the
new scenography which will bring the project to the highest level.

City Games tour arrived also to the so called Krešimir´s city. Šibenik hosted the second
Croatian qualification at the beach Banj where five teams competed – from Crnica,
Šubićevac, Raslina and Zlarin. In very relaxed and cheerful atmosphere team Šubićevac was
the best and they used this competition as a last good training before the final.

The nature of the location once again didn´t allow that flying water polo would be played, but
the spectators could enjoy for the first time this year in other attractive game, called
fisherman´s crates. Even though Šubićevac is not the area that is exactly at the sea, team from
there were the most skillful with crates. The experiences they possess helped them win in
games tourist rescuing and water basket where they got the maximum points. Their main
rivals was team Crnica, positioning behind Šubićevac in every games except in two most
attractive ones. The best time Crnica made in donkey race, traditionally very amusing game
for both – spectators and competitors. We have also witnessed the epic battle in the final of
tug of war. After more than 1 minute long battle Crnica took the win and the second place in
total standing.

We have to remind on the great atmosphere in the teams from Zlarin and Raslina. Even
though their results were not so great comparing to the leading teams, that didn´t bother them
not to have fun. With positive atmosphere around them they deserved great sympathies from
spectators which rewarded them with big applause after every game.

Today City Games tour will continue with another qualifications in Posedarje, starting at 7.30
p.m. and once again the entrance will be free.

From the island Čiovo City Games tour moved to island Pag. Metajna, beautiful little village
near Novalja, hosted the third Croatian challenger where we got the fourth finalist. The most
points after five games that were played last night gathered Šubićevac from Šibenik. With this
result they achieved the ticket for the final and will be a part of the best Croatian teams that
will compete at the end of August in Vir.

More than 1000 spectators were delighted to cheer for seven great teams from Šibenik, Krk,
Mali Lošinj, Dubrovačko primorje, Metajna and Pag. The atmosphere were very relaxed and
teams were playing five different games – tourist rescuing, prosciutto, donkey race, water
basket and paddle. The organizers of the competition, Grad Novalja and Adria Events agency,
were forced to cut off flying water polo due to safety reasons. Shallow water was too risky for
fast and attractive game.

In the first game the home team Metajna rescued their ladies the fastest and heated up the
atmosphere. In prosciutto the best swimming and climbing abilities showed Daj Mare from
Krk. He reached prosciutto in only 22 seconds and brought maximum points to his team in
this game. The next game was the most interesting for the spectators and even result is always
unpredictable. Donkey from Jazavci from Mali Lošinj was the most obedient and ended first
with result 24 seconds. Water basket and paddle was won by Krk which was at the end
enough for the second place. The gold was won by Šibenik which succeed something that is
not very common. They didn´t win in any game, but were the second and third in all of them
which was seen for the first in City Games.

City Games tour continue today on the beach Banj in Šibenik where qualification will be
played. The competition will start at 7.30 p.m. and the entrance will be for free.

From the southest part of Croatia City Games tour has come to island Čiovo. The second City
Games challenger in Croatia was organized by Općina Okrug, Turistička zajednica Općine
Okrug and Adria Events agency and the ticket for the final was won by Plina istočna from
Ploče. With this win the current Croatian champion announced their wish for winning another
title.

They won all points in every games and very early was clear who will deserve gold medal.
They made very good results in every game – 165 points in water polo, 59 seconds in barrel
race, 36 seconds in donkey race and 17 seconds in prosciutto. The silver medal was won by
very good team Komolac, but this time they were not strong enough. The third place won
home team Okrug which unfortunately didn´t have enough experience and luck to achieve
something more. At the end spectators gave big applause to competitors which altogether
jumped into the sea and sing.

“As a current Croatian champion we believed we could win. Even though we didn´t train at
all, the experiences we made in past years was enough to made the best times and scores and
to pass to the final. The main thing is still to hang out and create a good atmosphere and
considering those things the teams were great tonight,” said the captain of Ploče and
continued: “In the final we will try to defeat the champion title and I am sure that if our best
team will be there we can do that. We are going in Vir for a gold!”

City Games continues the island tour on 6. August in Metajna on the island Pag. There will be
organized the third Croatian challenger where we will get another finalist for Vir, where final
will be played in the end of August.

After more than one month, international City Games tour, the popular games for all generations, came back to the Croatian coast. In Zaton were last night organized the first Croatian qualification with support of Turističke zajednice Grada Dubrovnika and Adria Events agency. In front of many spectators 6 teams were competing – from Dubrovnik Žuti mix and Emershow, from Komolac Ombla, from Neum Muzgavci and from Zaton Rekreativci and Majkovi.

The best start succeeded to Komolac, making 115 points in flying water polo, which was, due to height of the pier, really flying this time. Even result 2:01 in tourist rescuing got them maximum points and the first position in standing. Majkovi then tried to turn things around by winning donkey race and prosciutto, but their gap behind Komolac were still 8 points.

The last two games brought interesting fight for the second position. Muzgavci from Neum which were up to those games hiding behind, showed their great strength in water basket and paddle and with 25 points well deserved overcame Majkovi and won silver medal. At the end the best and the fastest team was Ombla from Komolac, winning 52 points and celebrated their victory with singing.

After Zaton City Games tour continues towards Okrug, where on 4. August the second Croatian challenger will be hosted and where we will already get the second finalists of Croatian City Games.
