The new season of City Games™ has finally started tonight in beautiful Posedarje. We have been watching the first Croatian qualification and we have already witnessed the great competition with very good teams. The best today was, as expected, the same team that took the crown in the last year´s Croatian final – Daj mare team from the island Krk. For the next stage of competition also went through the 2nd placed Cesarica, which is one of the best experienced team, since they weren´t a part of the games only in very first year of this project.

Today teams were playing six games, two in the water and four in the shore. In the first game, flying water polo, we could see why the team Daj Mare is current Croatian champion. They took the lead with impressive 170 points by only missing one shot in the goal they threw. They were not so good in the next game – water basket – in which all the teams were very close (within 10 seconds), but they continued like they started – by winning in sea alka, donkey race and tug of war, but had to admit tactically perfectly played game of crates succeeded to Cesarica team.

The race for 2nd place which still leads to the challenge (the best teams there will qualify for the final) was extremely tight until the last game where the host team Posedarje and team from Cesarica was in the direct battle in the semifinal. The strongest this time was Cesarica and the captain was pretty happy with that achievement: “I am very satisfied with the result and how we played, I have to say that we didn´t come with the strongest team so we are happy to qualify. But I have to say I am impressed by the organization of that event. It was awesome. I already was part of the events where there were more teams, more spectators, but this atmosphere tonight, all these cheering kids, they also prepare the dinner and party … That is what the games are about – having fun!” Filip also told us the story about the oldest competitor tonight, with 55 years that was a men from his team: ”Yesterday he finished with his job for good and today we brought him with us. And you know what – he is having the best time here. And I tell you – if the 15 years old and the 55 years old compete in the same games and enjoy it, no matter the age, we have to admit this project is really special.”

The third team today, the home team Posedarje, were not sad, they played the games for the first time and surely will play it again next year since they were enjoying so much. Even the 4th placed Lovre tim also from Posedarje was pleased by playing the games. The gesture of the day was signed for the winning team from Krk, which decided to give their medals to the Lovre tim which was the perfect message of the games – everyone is a winner!

1ST PLACE:  “DAJ MARE”, KRK – 33 POINTS

2ND PLACE: “CESARICA”, CESARICA – 20 POINTS

3RD PLACE: “POSEDARJE”, POSEDARJE – 14 POINTS

4TH PLACE: “LOVRE TIM”, POSEDARJE – 13 POINTS
